The body of the celebrated man, Joel Misesemo, who died by throwing himself from the floor of the Darm Museum in Dar es Salaam, is expected to be buried today at Kinondoni cemetery in the region.

Speaking to this newspaper by phone, a close friend of the deceased's family, Samwel Sasali said the farewell service will be held at the Dar es Salaam Pentecoste Church (DPC) in Kinondoni.

Sasali said there is no information so far on the reasons for Misesemo throwing himself from the floor and a full statement is pending a report from a doctor.

"I haven't seen him for a couple of days, but the last time we talked on the phone he didn't have any problem and even on Sunday he went to church and had people talk and he didn't say or show if he had any problem," said Joel's friend.

The brother of the deceased, Reuben Misesemo, was quoted on social media as saying the family did not know why their brother decided to commit suicide by throwing himself from the floor.

Reuben said that the night of the shooting, Joel called some relatives informing them of the situation.

He said his brother had a wife but had not had a child for nine years since he married in 2014.

"In the past he suffered from paralysis on one side of the face, but he had been taking medication within the last four weeks," Reuben said.

Joel was a party to various activities including weddings, he was a counsellor. She was popular on Instagram using the name McJoeevents.
