A record for climbing Mount Everest. Sherpa Kami Rita conquered the highest peak on the planet for the 28th time, BNT reported.

The 53-year-old Nepali was greeted as a hero in Kathmandu yesterday on his return from the last expedition.

Climber Paragliding from Mount Everest

The record was set after Kami Rita conquered Everest twice in one week.

He first climbed to the roof of the world in 1994 and then climbed it once a year, except for years when authorities cut off access to the mountain for various reasons.

The world's second-highest climb to Mount Everest is Britain's Kenton Cool with 17. Kami Rita has no plans to give up climbing yet.
