Monitoring has been carried out on the basis of media reports about the falsification of rice products on sale in the country, the lack of quality and safety indicators in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents, and applications from the Food Safety Agency.

AQTA has been told to the EPA that a total of 15 samples have been taken from retail networks and submitted to the laboratory for testing purposes under monitoring carried out from March 25 of this year to ensure food safety, protect consumer rights and prevent consumer deception. Samples taken from 4 local and 21 imported products have been tested for laboratory tests on the genetic makeup, moisture, and starch. According to the samples' test results, the products have responded to the requirements of a regulatory document in the food industry.

The agency declares that claims circulating on social media that there are allegedly fake (artificial) rice on sale are unfounded. The results of recent monitoring and laboratory tests show that rice products in circulation are of natural origin. However, consumers can report the matter by calling AQTA's "1003 Call Center" if they have any doubts about the minimum quality and safety indicators of food.

AQTA will continue its consistent efforts to protect the health of the population and provide safe food and prevent illegal cases aimed at consumer rights violations.
