The Sukos Kova Foundation has provided 15 modern oxygen concentrators and Oximeters to care for patients in need of emergency services, including disaster victims.

The equipment, worth Sh16.6 million, has been donated to Muhimbili National Hospital, the Jakaya Kikwete Heart Institute (JKCI) and the Institute of Orthopaedic Medicine (MOI).

Speaking today in Dar es Salaam while handing over the equipment, the Director of the Institute, retired police commissioner Suleiman Kova said the equipment was particularly important for its ability to produce oxygen by electricity without needing to refill oxygen.

"In recognition of the large number of patients being cared for in our hospitals we are confident these devices will be used with greater capacity to provide care with ease due to their stated capacity," says Kova.

He said the devices would bring greater efficiency and productivity when caring for patients, especially those who are critically ill. He commended Muhimbili for the significant improvements made in the hospital to reflect the needs of the people.

"I also commend the Directors of JKCI and MOI for the excellent work being done in these institutions, and the stakeholders continue to mobilize to support their efforts and other development partners in the country to support efforts to improve the health sector in the broader interest of our nation," Kova said.

Kova pledges to provide more such aid in partnership with the Peaceland Institute of China and to uphold the principles of integrity, professionalism and hard work to reduce the impact of disasters and disasters in Tanzania.
