The doctor told such a thing about the patient who got sick from alcohol addiction, heart will be upset

A doctor's heart-warming post is going viral on the internet.

Dr. AB Phillips aka The LiverDoc (@theliverdr) has shared a lovely post on Twitter about his treatment of a patient with alcohol use disorder.

In a long post, the doctor talks about the effects alcoholism has on a family and the doctor's life.

Dr. Phillips wrote, "The fourth laddu. These 3 laddus were given to me by my patient's wife a few weeks ago on her birthday. She was now happy and all was well in the family."

The doctor posted a picture of three laddus and shared that he had received these laddus from a patient's wife on her birthday.

A patient named Paul was suffering from alcohol use disorder and had been drinking alcohol for more than 15 years.

A few months ago, Paul was diagnosed with alcohol-related hepatitis, and was advised a liver transplant.

Unfortunately, Paul's family was not able to afford his hospitalization and surgery.

Paul owned a bakery shop, had two daughters, aged 5 and 9, and his wife worked part-time jobs at various places, but quit after the girls were born.

Doctors regularly prescribed medicines, suggested ways to reduce symptoms and comforted the family over the phone as Paul was being treated at home.

However, Paul died at home on the 18th day.

After three months his wife went to the doctor on his birthday and gave him sweets.

"Three laddoos. One from her and two from the daughters. Because I never said anything bad to her or Paul. I never called her a failure. I never blamed her or Paul for her illness. I never Neither was angry with Paul for his behaviour. They were free now. The girls went to school and the wife was now running the shop well."

The doctor wrote, "But I was only thinking of the fourth laddu. Which I never got from Paul, because he died. A woman lost her husband, two bright little children lost their father All three lives shattered and a void that can never be filled."

He also mentioned that he "gets stressed after watching families shatter into a million little pieces because of alcohol."

While the doctor's emotional post about Paul and his family touched many hearts online, it also shed light on the destructive power of addiction.

Social media users requested the doctor to put this story in other languages so that it could reach more and more people.

One of the tweets read, "This is so heart touching. Thanks for sharing. Alcohol is a global curse. Your writing should reach globally. Will see if such posts of yours can be translated into Arabic." Yes. I live in Dubai."

Another user wrote, "If possible tell it in Hindi. Lots of people need to read this. Most of them won't understand English, who should read it."

A third user wrote, "Brilliantly told. I feel your pain. It is not easy to write like this without compassion from the heart. Congratulations."

The fourth user wrote, "Doctor, you are a good person. Keep your spirits up and do good. We rarely find people like you, who are ready to raise their voice against the system."
