Contemporary Legend Theatre, which cost tens of millions of dollars and is based on the "Shan Hai Jing" mythological masterpiece "Goddess‧Queen Mother of the West", will make its grand debut on May 20 and 21 at the Opera House of Kaohsiung Weiwuying National Art and Culture Center.

[Reporter Su Funan/Kaohsiung Report] Contemporary Legend Theater’s masterpiece "Goddess‧Queen Mother of the West" costing tens of millions of dollars and based on the "Shan Hai Jing" will be staged at the Opera House of Kaohsiung Weiwuying National Art and Culture Center on May 20 and 21 , Pay tribute to women all over the world.

The Kaohsiung Spring Art Festival is in its 14th year. The Contemporary Legend Theater, founded 37 years ago, has also joined the festival's performances. It will cost tens of millions of dollars to perform the mythical masterpiece "Goddess‧Queen of the West" based on the "Shan Hai Jing". This play describes the 5000-year-old Before the Yellow Emperor fought against Chi You, the Queen Mother of Xiaoxi met King Mu of Zhou who was riding eight steeds to the West. The two fell in love with Yaochi, and joined hands to fight against Yin Gods and evil beasts. The celestial body drives back evil with light. Although he failed to reconcile the love with King Mu of Zhou, he still made a covenant of jade and silk once a year, which became a beautiful legend.

This time, Wu Xingguo, who is also the director, will play the heroic and handsome King Zhou Mu together with his direct disciples. Huang Ruolin and Chen Yunwen, two proud students of Mr. Wei Haimin, will jointly play the role of Queen Mother of the West. The Virgin, Priest, Yang God and Yin God, 15 young performers from Yuxing Legend, and 17 dancers from the Taikoo Dance Troupe will present the fantasy, romance and extraordinary stage art charm of ancient myths to Kaohsiung audiences.

According to Contemporary Legend Theater, Mr. Lu Lianghui created an opera-like symphony for this play, and cooperated with costume designer Kang Yanling to create 60 sets of exquisite costumes. The style is strong and eye-catching. Lead the audience back to the ancient mythical world like "Lord of the Rings" and "Avatar".
