The other day, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla will travel from the palace to Westminster Abbey in the Diamond Jubilee coach, which was created in 2012, especially for the Diamond Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

It is more comfortable than the one in which the queen went to her own coronation in 1953.

The carriage has a crown on the roof made from wood taken from Admiral Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, and its interior is inlaid with samples of wood from places such as Balmoral Castle, Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh, as well as places deeply connected with British and world history.

It was in this carriage that we saw Charles and Camilla with Elizabeth II in 2019 as they headed to Parliament House for the State Opening of Parliament.

But after the coronation, King Charles and Queen Camilla will go from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace in the Gold State Coach.

Elizabeth II herself described the trip in this carriage as "terrible", because the carriage is very uncomfortable and very old, built in 1762.

However, the queen rode in it in both directions from the palace to the abbey and vice versa, but her son changed the tradition somewhat.

The golden carriage is used only to transport the monarch and his wife (husband).

That is, only Charles and Camilla will travel in this carriage on the way from Westminster Abbey.

There are very few monarchies today that have preserved such carriages from the era in working order, so it is amazing to go back to the coronation day of King Charles III centuries ago to see the King and Queen in this carriage.
