Movie Review Gumrah: Know how Gumrah is
New Delhi:
Remake of superhit South films is no longer a guarantee of success. Talking about the year 2023, till now Selfie, Shehzada and Bhola have had a bad fate at the box office.
Bhola was a remake of the Tamil film Kaithi.
Shehzada was a remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikanthapuramuloo and Selfie was a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License.
But all the three films flopped at the box office.
Gumrah, the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Tadam, has been released this week.
Aditya Roy Kapur, Mrinal Thakur and Ronit Roy are in lead roles in the film.
Vardhan Ketkar is the director of the film.
Let's know how is the film.
The story of Gumrah
is a murder, and Mrinal Thakur, who is a police officer, is responsible for solving its mystery.
She gets entangled in this case and comes to know that there is a person who has a lookalike.
This person is Aditya Roy Kapur.
In this way, while solving this murder case, many new things come to the fore.
The director has tried to put Bollywood touch in the film.
This is the reason that somewhere the drama has become too much and somewhere the songs break the flow of the film.
The treatment of the film does not stand the test.
Acting in Gumrah
When a lookalike character comes in a film, the actor has to work very hard because playing a double role is not easy.
Two different characters have to live.
Aditya Roy Kapur misses a bit in this matter.
But on the acting front, Mrinal Thakur is improving with each film.
Everyone has done a decent job in the rest of the film.
Gumrah Verdict
Gumrah is a murder mystery.
It also has the problem of double role.
There is also suspense in the film.
There is also a remake of South's popular film.
But poor treatment.
There are songs and a lot of drama too.
Overall, fans of Aditya Roy Kapur and those who haven't seen Tadam can watch this film once, but don't go with high hopes.
