[Reporter Li Rongping/Taoyuan Report] Private Chung Yuan University cooperated with Girl Love International Care Association to conduct a two-week overseas service-study program in Uganda, Africa in February this year, helping local women solve the problem of "menstrual poverty" and using information The Cultivation Aid Organization shortens the knowledge gap, delivers warmth and care through international services, makes university life more fulfilling and meaningful, and contributes to Taiwan's national diplomacy.

The overseas volunteer team of Central Plains University in Africa and Uganda is composed of 5 students including Cai Jieyi from the Department of Finance, Zheng Yuxiang and Lu Ziling from the Department of International Trade, Hong Zhaode from the Department of Industry, and Liao Borui from the Department of Environmental Engineering. They traveled 10,000 kilometers to Uganda, Africa , to help local organizations provide digital services, teach employees to use the online Canva tool to learn information skills, and design event posters.

At the same time, we assisted Love for Girls International Association to hold a "cloth sanitary napkin promotion workshop" in Uganda slums, through teaching sewing cloth sanitary napkins and promoting the concept of reuse, to achieve the benefits of circular economy.

We also hold group recreation activities for hundreds of people in local primary schools, so that children can feel the enthusiasm and vitality from college students.

After returning to Taiwan, the group of students held a results presentation. The team used situational action dramas to show the cross-cultural cooperation and understanding of the service process, and let the participating students sew cloth sanitary napkins by themselves, sending their hearts and blessings to the hands of every woman in Uganda.

During the meeting, Lu Ziling shared that Uganda lacks local supplies, and many families cannot have enough sanitary supplies, which has a long-term negative impact on life.

The most impressive thing was the production of cloth sanitary napkins held in the slums. Seeing the little mother learning how to sew with the baby on her back, reminded her to cherish any learning opportunity; Only one trip can meet the water consumption for one day, which made her realize that water resources are hard-won.

Liu Zhaowen, chairman of the Girl Love International Care Association, said that the association starts from caring for "menstrual poverty", and is a multinational development assistance organization centered on women's empowerment, ensuring women's menstrual health and defending the right to education.
