The shot was taken on April 1, 1978 in London, when Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and the Queen's sister Princess Margaret arrived at Westminster Abbey to attend a service of thanksgiving to mark the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force.

The Queen was 52 at the time, while her sister, who was walking behind the monarch, was 48. Her Majesty was dressed in a white coat and hat, black gloves on her hands and a black handbag.

As shoes, she chose patent shoes with heels.

Her sister Princess Margaret walked behind and was also wearing a light coat and patent leather shoes.
