Banksy's work titled "Brace Yourself!"

("Tighten up!") was sold for over 2 million US dollars, which is three times more than the price announced at the beginning of the auction, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

During the auction, there was musical accompaniment from the band that inspired the creation of the work.

A Banksy artwork has regained some missing pieces

The artist painted the picture in 2010 for the British band, then known under the name "Exit Through The Gift Shop".

This is the name Banksy intends to use for his 2010 documentary. In order to avoid copyright issues, the group accepts Banksy's offer to paint them a picture on the condition that they change their name.

The painting depicts death in black clothing and hair, driving a go-kart with a seat belt on.

The buyer is Miguel Garcia Larios, owner of a vintage store in Hollywood.

The auction was held in Beverly Hills.

The starting price was $600,000, and the sale was headlined by a live performance by the band Brace Yourself!

("Brace Yourself!").

The group's singer, Natalia Zalevska, called the sale "a piece of history."

Part of the money will be directed to a charity helping musicians with health and financial problems.

A copy of Bansky's Girl with the Balloon was also sold at the auction, at a price of 195,000 US dollars, as well as 70 other works by famous people such as Bob Ross, Jim Carrey, Dave Navarro.

In early March, Banksy's painting "Brace Yourself!"

("Tighten Up!") was displayed in the window of the Hard Rock Cafe on Piccadilly Circus in London.

This Banksy painting just sold for $2M.

"Brace Yourself" was originally gifted by Banksy in 2010 to the brand Exit Through the Gift Shop in exchange for the rights to use their name for his documentary film.
