On March 30, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Demining Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the State Customs Committee to support the humanitarian demining operation carried out in Azerbaijan.

Before the signing ceremony, the chairman of the State Customs Committee, the lieutenant general of the customs service, Shahin Bagirov met with the chairman of the board of the Mine-clearing Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), Vugar Suleymanov.

The meeting was attended by the deputy chairman of the Committee and the heads of the relevant structural divisions of both institutions.

At the meeting, the importance of supporting demining operations in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan and strengthening cooperation in this direction was emphasized.

The purpose of the memorandum is to provide support for demining operations in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, effective use of existing resources and opportunities, exchange of positive experiences and organization of necessary specialized training, and at the same time to achieve the development of mutual cooperation in the canine field.

Also, ideas were exchanged regarding the assistance of the Canine Center of the State Customs Committee to meet the Agency's needs in this direction, ANAMA to provide educational training to the employees of the Center on the danger of mines and explosives, as well as relevant training to the canine center's service dogs and their guides, joint cooperation perspectives were discussed.
