The water line that provided drinking water to two villages with more than 16,000 inhabitants, which was destroyed by floods years ago in Zagatala, has been restored.

According to APA's North-West Bureau, the part of the water line passing through the Tala River bed, which was destroyed by floods many years ago, was restored and put into use in order to provide drinking water to the residents of Yukhari Tala and Ashagi Tala villages.

On this occasion, an opening ceremony was held in the Yukhari Tala village administrative area with the participation of the district administration, residents who supported the restoration of the water line, and residents of the mentioned villages.

At the event, it was reported that the newly restored water line that will provide drinking water to the residents of these villages, which have been facing water problems for a long time, was built at the expense of internal resources.

The construction of the water line was made with the support of the district executive power, village municipality and residents.

The length of the water line in the Tala River bed with 500 mm diameter pipes is more than 1200 meters.

It should be noted that the Meshlesh water line, which provides drinking water to 70 percent of the population living in Yukhari Tala and Ashaghi Tala villages of the region, takes its source from the groundwater of the Tala River, and was built in the 70s of the last century and put to use by the population.

At the end of the 90s of the last century, the water line became unusable as a result of the flood that occurred in the Tala River as a result of heavy rains.

Due to the flood in the Tala River as a result of torrential rains in the fall of 2021, hundreds of meters of the water line passing through the river bed collapsed and became unusable.
