According to statistics, the most common diseases in spring are seasonal allergies (nasal allergies, asthma and conjunctivitis), rhinoviruses and gastroenteritis.

Wash your hands frequently and wear a mask for protection

◎Common diseases in spring:

Please read on...

●Seasonal allergies: In spring, many people will start to have symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, wheezing, chest tightness and red itchy eyes.

The rainy and humid spring causes mold and pollen to scatter with the wind, which will expand and cause allergic symptoms. The large temperature difference may cause the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa to constrict and dilate, and the symptoms will aggravate due to the inability to cope with temperature changes.

It is recommended that patients with seasonal allergies start using anti-allergic drugs 2 weeks before the expected symptoms appear, and confirm the air quality of the day in advance every day. When the air quality is poor and the concentration of fine suspended particles (PM2.5) is high, try to avoid going outdoors sports.

●Rhinovirus cold: Virus infection is usually a good time in winter, but it is still at the peak of cold in spring.

Symptoms usually include sore throat, headache, loss of appetite, cough, and nasal discomfort.

Since it is an infectious disease, it is very difficult to prevent it. Therefore, it is recommended to wash your hands frequently after entering and leaving public places and before eating, and maintain the habit of wearing a mask.

●Gastroenteritis: Norovirus, which causes stomach flu, is especially easy to infect and reproduce in spring.

Common symptoms include stomach pain, cramping, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting, and possibly even a fever.

Like the prevention of rhinovirus, because it is contagious, it is necessary to wash hands frequently, disinfect frequently or use wet wipes.

In TCM theory, spring belongs to wood and corresponds to the liver meridian. When the liver qi runs smoothly, the whole body metabolism and blood circulation can be rapidly improved.

Health care methods can be achieved through simple acupoint health care and traditional Chinese medicine tea.

◎Chinese herbal tea:

●Liver clearing and eyesight tea (Picture 1): Cassia seed, Ganoderma lucidum, wolfberry, chrysanthemum, and Gynostemma 0.5 qian each.

Wash the above-mentioned Chinese medicinal materials and soak in about 250-300ml of boiling water to drink. The above-mentioned medicinal materials can clear the liver and eyesight, moisturize the intestines, moisten the lungs and relieve cough, and improve immunity.

◎Acupoints for nourishing the liver

●Taichong Point (Figure 2): Located in the depression of the thumb and second toe on the instep.

It can dredge the meridians and activate collaterals, soothe the liver and regulate qi, improve gastrointestinal symptoms and depression.

Press for 10-15 seconds each time, repeat about 10 times a day.

●Ququan Point (Figure 3): It is located in the depression above the end of the medial transverse crease when the knee is bent.

It can clear liver fire, remove dampness and heat, nourish liver yin, and improve female gynecological symptoms and itching symptoms caused by allergies.
