According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 11, 2022 on amending the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Freedom of Religion", the issue of accepting donations by religious institutions is reflected in the amendment to Article 18, Part 3 of the Law "On Freedom of Religion". .

"Thus, according to Article 18 of the law, religious institutions can apply for voluntary donations, as well as accept these donations, including donated funds, in cash or via bank, mail, plastic card, electronic payment systems, or the Internet.

In order to regulate the issues arising from the law, the rules are prepared with the participation of the representatives of the relevant institutions, and after the process is completed and the rules are approved, detailed information will be given to the public.

Currently, the State Committee for Work with Religious Institutions does not control these issues," the information says.
