Six Asian winners announced for the 2nd Julius Baer New Century Art Award.

(Provided by Julius Baer New Century Art Award) [Reporter Tu Yingru/Report from Taipei] Six Asian winners announced for the second "Julius Baer New Century Art Award".

The winners come from Hong Kong, India, Singapore and other places. Each winner will receive a prize of US$10,000 and launch a three-month "Art X Technology Accelerator Program" to develop the concepts of the participating proposals into digital artworks , and will be on display in a virtual exhibition in the second half of 2023.

"Art X Technology Accelerator Program" is the first project in Asia dedicated to assisting digital artists to use Web3 technology and other ever-changing digital media to enhance the development of art. This award aims to support today's artistic talents and become tomorrow's masters.

(Courtesy of the Julius Baer New Century Art Award) The six winners of the second edition of the Julius Baer New Century Art Award were selected by a jury of experts in today's digital arts and art fields, including the acclaimed outstanding artist Refik Anadol and Shubigi Rao, independent curator Fu Liao, Simon Fisher from art media platform Ocula, art expert Shivajirao Gaekwar, and curator Theresa McCullough from Singapore's Asian Civilizations Museum.

The Julius Baer New Century Art Award invites several artists in Asia between the ages of 21 and 40 to submit artistic concept proposals on the theme of sustainability or any Julius Baer New Century Thinking investment.

A total of 313 proposals were received for this year's event, among which the future city, the sudden emergence of digital technology and sustainable development are the three most popular key themes.

Entries make extensive use of a variety of digital tools, including data mapping, 2D and 3D image rendering, artificial intelligence-generated art, audience interaction data, interactive reality simulations, and virtual and augmented reality.
