Atmospheric air quality monitoring is carried out daily through automatic air quality monitoring stations in Sabail, Khatai, Nizami, Narimanov districts and Sumgait, Ganja cities of Baku city.

APA was informed about this by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

It was reported that according to the analysis of the data obtained from the stations, during the day, the amount of carbon monoxide in the city of Baku was 1.7 times, the amount of nitrogen-4 oxide was 1.4 times higher than the norm in the city of Ganja, and 1.2 times higher in the city of Sumgayit.

The reason for the higher than normal levels of carbon monoxide and nitrogen-4 oxide is the intensive nature of traffic and other anthropogenic effects.
