11 people suspected of illegal drug trafficking were detained as a result of search and operation measures carried out by Barda District Police Department in the last two weeks.

According to information provided to APA by the Barda regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the residents of the region, Ilgar Orujov and Vusal Mammadov, who were previously convicted, were arrested during the operational measures carried out by the Barda RPSH employees.

During the inspection, 1 kilogram 110 grams of marijuana was found from I. Orujov and a large amount of heroin was found and taken from V. Mammadov.

In addition, 9 more people were arrested on suspicion of illegal drug trafficking during the last two weeks.

During these operations, more than 3 kilograms of different types of drugs were removed from illegal circulation.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against those persons in the Barda RPSH, investigations are continuing.
