Some of the persons who were acquitted after 5 years in prison in the "Tartar case" are demanding compensation for material and moral damage.

APA reports that ex-servicemen filed separate claims for damages.

The claim of one of the acquitted persons, Lieutenant Nasif Aliyev, has already been accepted in the Nasimi District Court.

The lawsuit will be heard on March 30 under the chairmanship of judge Samad Jafarov.

The Ministry of Finance was recognized as the defendant in all claims.

It should be recalled that in December 2021, the General Prosecutor's Office made decisions regarding the renewal of the criminal proceedings related to the "Tartar case".

After that, the cases of 19 people who were found guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 20 years in prison were re-examined.

During the additional investigation, all cases related to criminal prosecution were comprehensively, completely and objectively investigated, and since the guilt of the mentioned persons on charges of treason was not proven, criminal prosecution was justified (Article 39.2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Azerbaijan), including other episodes concerning 10 of them. (crimes against military service, etc.), decisions were made to terminate the criminal prosecution on non-exculpatory grounds, and they were released after canceling the pretrial detention measure.

At the same time, all the details related to the late Huseynov Mehman Telman oghlu and Agazade Elkhan Kamaleddin oghlu were fully, comprehensively and objectively investigated, and since their guilt was not proven, decisions were made to terminate the criminal prosecution against them on exculpatory grounds (Article 39.2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Azerbaijan).
