Chen Libai, chairman of the Chen Chengbo Cultural Foundation and grandson of Chen Chengbo, donated paintings on behalf of the family.

He said that today is also the "memorial day" for Chen Chengbo's martyrdom. This period of sad memories of the past cannot be said to be happy, but it can be said to be able to hand over the works of his grandfather, which are jointly guarded by two generations of the family, to a public art gallery and entrust the responsibility to the government. Chen Chengbo's "Clear Flow" was exhibited for the first time at the 1st "National Art Exhibition", and was also selected for the 3rd Taiwan Exhibition in the same year.

In the 228 incident in 1947, Chen Chengbo acted as a peace envoy to negotiate with the military on behalf of the people, but sacrificed his life because of this. The day of death of this important Taiwanese painter coincided with the Taiwan Art Festival.

Chen Chengbo wrote in his suicide note that "The Painting of the Broken Bridge and Remnant Snow on the West Lake is preserved by his family", which is the only work mentioned in the article, and he hopes that it will be handed down to his family, which shows that "Clear Stream" is of extraordinary significance to Chen Chengbo.

Last year, after review by the Ministry of Culture, based on the integration of oriental aesthetic elements, it was a model of pioneers of Taiwanese painting in the first half of the 20th century, and was designated as an important antiquity.
