San Diao Ling Eco-Friendly Tunnel in New Taipei City was opened in the 11th year of the Republic of China. It has been more than 100 years ago. In the early days, it was used for trains passing through coal mines. Later, it was transformed into the Yilan Line of Taiwan Railway. However, due to the limited width of the tunnel, it can only be used on a single track. In the 74th year of the Republic of China, the Taiwan Railway opened the new Sandiaoling Tunnel for two-way traffic. The old Sandiaoling Tunnel has been closed for 37 years since then. There is no human interference. The stream flows in the cave and the natural reproduction of animals and plants. Tadpoles and shrimps are happy in the water. Self-satisfied, bats inhabit in groups, forming a tunnel full of vitality.
The "mirror pool" at the exit of the tunnel has become a popular check-in point for its beautiful scenery.

Energy-saving lamps with low brightness are used in the tunnel to set off the independent tranquility of the century-old tunnel. Under the irradiation of scattered light, the stalactites spreading like white tree roots at the top of the tunnel are more obvious.
In addition, a large area of black smoke can be seen at the top of the tunnel, which is the trace of soot left by the steam train passing through the tunnel in the past, showing the proof of the train passing through the tunnel in the past.
The drainage channels on both sides of the tunnel are also set up with water retaining piers, using slight height differences to create small waterfalls, and clear streams are flowing, allowing visitors to feel the tranquil atmosphere surrounded by natural ecology.
Walking on the cantilever plank road across the valley, you can enjoy the scenery of the valley and the train whizzing by.

The tunnel is about to open on weekdays. Reservations are not required on weekdays. Tour reservations are arranged for the morning and afternoon tours.
