On March 24, at 3:35 p.m., 5 citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan who attempted to cross the state border from the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Georgia were detained in the service territory of the border outpost located near Salahli village of Samukh district of the "Shamkir" border detachment of the State Border Service.

According to the information provided to APA by the Press Center of the State Border Service, during the investigation, it was determined that the detained persons intend to officially enter the country, cross the state border and migrate from the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Georgia, and from there to one of the European countries.

According to the fact, operational-investigative measures are being continued in the direction of detecting and neutralizing the channel of illegal migration.
