Earlier this month, an ambulance driver was sacked from the Metropolitan Ambulance Service for three breaches of the work rules within a year.

However, the National Trade Union "Defence" does not agree with the removal of the employee of the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance in Sofia.

According to the union, he was dismissed illegally and they demand that the man be reinstated.

According to CSMP-Sofia, the dismissal is lawful after three violations.

However, according to the injured driver, his dismissal was motivated by personal and ethnic reasons.

"I have been working for 17 years and I have not had a single violation. The dismissal is based on ethnicity. I will seek my rights through the courts, because I have not violated anything," said Sasho Panov, a fired driver in the capital's Emergency Service.

"We stand behind the fair demands of Mr. Panov, because it is clear from the order that it is illegal. The director, who has been in power for more than 20 years and harasses people and punishes them for what they will and will not, fires them continuously and then accuses the court of returns to work again, and we stand against these arbitrariness, which are carried out in CSMP-Sofia", said Krasimir Mitov, chairman of the "Zashtita" trade union.

In the reasons for the dismissal, it is written that they exchanged some remarks with another worker from the center outside of working hours.

A protest is also being prepared for March 28.
