The "St. Nicholas" Hospice does not have a license to provide the "Resident Care" social service, the Agency for the Quality of Social Services reported to BNT, in connection with the call of the Municipality of Ruse to close the social institution.

From there they explained that it is managed by "HOSPIS ZARITSA YOANNA" EOOD, registered in the commercial register and the register of non-profit legal entities at the Registration Agency with headquarters in Targovishte.

At the moment, however, the Agency for the Quality of Social Services has not issued a license to the company for the provision of social services within the meaning of the Law on Social Services.

With an application dated December 5, 2022, the commercial company applied for a license for the hospice in the village of Nikolovo, but after an inspection by the Agency, they were denied.

The reasons are that the factual situation does not meet the described circumstances regarding the social service in the application submitted by the applicant regarding the "Residential care" social service for "adults of incapacitated age", as well as the quality standards defined in the Ordinance on the quality of social services.

The municipality of Ruse called for the closure of a private hospice near the city

The conclusion is that the hospice in the village of Nikolovo is currently operating without a license, the Agency for the Quality of Social Services states, and they emphasize that for this violation on January 20 of this year

an act of administrative violation has been drawn up for the manager.

From there, they recommend that citizens, before placing a loved one in a hospice, check the Agency's website to see if they have a license.

The hospice told BNT that, as of today, a court case is still being conducted regarding the procedure for their licensing.
