[Reporter Huang Xulei/Kaohsiung Report] The 2023 Weiwuying Pipe Organ Music Festival will be held today (22-26).

Iveta APKALNA will visit Taiwan again after 2018 and 2020. With the theme of "Joy", Iveta APKALNA will perform three programs of solo, duet and orchestra, and will challenge to play the organ of Pingtung Performing Arts Hall for the first time.

Jian Wenbin, director of Wei Wuying, held a symposium with Evita yesterday, attracting music fans to attend.

Evita is from Latvia. She is currently the lead organist at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany. She has been selected as the cultural ambassador of Latvia and is known as the "Queen of the Organ" in the music industry.

Evita said that this visit to Taiwan will present several centuries of works, allowing music fans to hear the two performance styles of the excellent organ solo and the orchestra concerto in Weiwuying and Pingtung Performing Arts Hall.

Jian Wenbin said that the Weiwuying Concert Hall is an excellent combination with the largest pipe organ in Asia. The vineyard-style design is like a resonance box, allowing the audience to enjoy the performance as if they were inside the pipe organ; the Pingtung Performing Arts Hall has a unique Formosa flute in the world Pipe organ, 2 world-class pipe organs are interpreted through Evita, which can better show the delicacy and shock of the "King of Musical Instruments".

The first "Bach and Grass" tonight (22nd) at the Pingtung Performing Arts Hall at 7:00 p.m. by Evita; Friday (24th) at 7:00 p.m. at the Weiwuying Concert Hall Evita joined hands with conductor Jian Wenbin and the Kaohsiung City Symphony Orchestra to show the spark of competition and cooperation with a work in D minor.

On Sunday (26th) "Night of Organ and Accordion Duo" will be performed in Weiwuying. Evita will perform with Martinas, the first prize winner of the World Cup Accordion Competition.
