Near the villages of Krasnoe and Ivantsevichi of the Malodechan district, on the site of a former sand quarry, the construction of a pond for storing "precipitation of economic and fecal wastewater" that will be brought from Minsk is planned, writes the regional portal Kraj.by.

When the pond is built and it starts working, about 50 dump trucks of sewage waste can be delivered and unloaded there every day.

The customer of the construction of the storage pond is UP "Menskvodakanal".

As Svetlana Verameyka, an engineer of the enterprise, explained to the publication, we are talking about dry dehydrated feces that will be removed from the buildings of the Minsk sewage treatment plant.

The place near Molodechny was chosen because the former quarry is surrounded by a forest, which must prevent the wind from carrying unpleasant smells.

According to the engineer, all regulations on the zone of spread of these smells have been met, ecological norms are not violated.

The site of the future pond is located 2 km northwest of Ivantsevichi, 16 km southeast of Molodechno.

The reference area is 17 hectares.

The start of the implementation of project solutions — 2024.

The capacity of the storage pond will be 1.5 million cubic meters, the period of operation will be 8 years.

Residents of the surrounding villages collect signatures against the construction of a storage pond

The village elders of Ivantsevichy and Vidzevshchyna began collecting signatures against the construction of a sewage waste storage facility.

"People have been signing up since Tuesday, March 14.

We have 66 houses in the village, and in two days we have already collected more than 60 signatures.

The list is in the store.

Everyone who comes there signs.

On March 17, we are going to hand over this list to the village council," says Lyudmila, the mayor of Ivantsevichi.

Signatures are also being collected in the village of Krasnoe and the village of Chist.

"When the shelter is built, we will only have to sell the house and leave here," says a resident of the village of Krasnoe Andrey.

— The report on the assessment of the impact of the storage pond on the environment states that the nearest water intake well is more than two kilometers from the site of the future pond, but this is not the case.

According to the map, it can be determined that the nearest water intakes of horticultural societies are located at a distance of about 800 meters.

The residents of Chishti even drew up a document proving that the research was conducted incorrectly."

The start date of public discussions was set for March 4, and the end date for April 3.

This means that if people collect and hand over signatures against the construction of a storage pond to the district executive committee, they can be invited to the meeting no earlier than March 29 and no later than April 3.
