Currently, foggy weather conditions are observed in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.

Fog is an atmospheric phenomenon expected due to synoptic conditions.

Gulshad Mammadova, director of the Bureau of Hydrometeorological Forecasts, told APA about this.

He noted that in windless weather, the earth's surface cools due to effective back radiation, and therefore, fog is formed in the upper air layer: "Nakhchivan, Julfa, Goygol, Naftalan, Ganja, Shamkir, Balaken, Sheki, Gakh, Gryz, Lerik, Baku , Sumgayit, Mashtaga, Bina, Pirallahi, Neft Dashes, fog is also observed, and visibility is limited to 200-500 meters."

G. Mammadova noted that foggy weather conditions are expected to continue until March 21.
