A reception ceremony was held in the Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk.

It is reported that schoolchildren took part in the farewell ceremony with a pioneer tie and solemnly joined the ranks of the BRSM.

Sophia Cathedral is the oldest Christian shrine in Belarus, a national and religious shrine of Belarusians.

It comes from the middle of the 11th century.

In the 1920s, it was closed by the communist authorities, converted first into a warehouse, then into an archive, then into a concert hall.

The cathedral belongs to the state.
