Atmospheric air quality monitoring is carried out daily through automatic air quality monitoring stations in Sabail, Khatai, Nizami, Narimanov districts and Sumgait, Ganja cities of Baku city.

APA was informed about this by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

It was reported that, based on the analysis of the data obtained from the stations, carbon monoxide was 1.5 times higher than the norm in Sumgayit city, and 1.3 times higher than the norm in Ganja city.

The reason for the higher than normal amount of carbon monoxide and nitrogen-4 oxide is related to the intensive nature of traffic and other anthropogenic effects.
