The R&B artist Siza was announced a few days ago as "Woman of the Year" by the authoritative publication "Billboard" - a recognition of the quite successful 2022 professionally.

Her new production, succinctly titled "SOS", took the magazine's album chart for a long run, staying there for a full ten weeks, albeit inconsistently.

The pilot single "Kill Bill" is Siza's highest-charting song to date on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number two.

However, the biggest and most valuable achievement of the artist last year was the Grammy Award, which she received together with the rapper Doja Kat.

They were honored in the category of Best Performance by a Pop Duo or Group for their song "Kiss Me More" together.

It's a long road that 33-year-old Siza, whose name is Solana Imani Rowe, has traveled as she climbs to the top.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she dropped out of college early to work.

She has changed many professions, but music remains her great love.

Siza once again topped the Billboard album chart

The singer shares that she draws inspiration and is strongly influenced for her singing style by Ella Fitzgerald.

Among the people she has personally learned from, the "Kill Bill" singer cites Lauryn Hill.

For Siza, her colleague Beyoncé, with whom she collaborated on the song "Feeling Myself" by Nicki Minaj, is "probably the most perfect, beautiful being that I have ever met in my entire life. She is the most inspiring woman on Earth after my mother".

The singer self-released her first mini-album titled "See.SZA.Run" in 2012. It contains various musical styles such as soul, hip hop, R&B.

Siza describes the process of recording the production as "experimental" without setting a big goal.

"See.SZA.Run" impresses critics from authoritative publications, who speak favorably of the product.

The first step to the big music scene has been made... In 2013, Siza again released a mini-album, the name of which is "S".

She works with quite famous producers on her songs, good reviews are not late either.

Siza continues to top the Billboard album chart

That same year, she began working with the hip hop label “Top Dawg Entertainment” (TDE), which is behind Kendrick Lamar.

She is the first woman this label has worked with.

And their joint collaboration led to Siza's first studio album - "Ctrl", which appeared on the market in 2017. With its debut on the Billboard album chart, it took the third place, and Time magazine named "Ctrl" the album of 2017. Among the hits on it is "Love Galore", which received platinum status.

Siza received five Grammy nominations for her debut album, including Best Young Artist, but failed to win a single award.

Siza retains the top position on the Billboard album chart

In the album, the singer generously demonstrates her talent, which opens many doors for her in the music business.

Siza was invited to participate in the productions of her colleagues - together with the group "Maroon 5" they made the track "What Lovers Do", and with Kendrick Lamar they recorded the single "All the Stars", which became the lead in the soundtrack to the film "Black panther" from 2018. Cardi B also showed an interest in Siza and the two recorded "I Do" together, a song featured on the album "Invasion of Privacy".

The most successful is her collaboration with Doja Kett, for which they were awarded a "Grammy" last year.

At the beginning of December

the singer released "SOS", which is set by experts as a favorite for the Grammy Awards in 2024. It is already reaping success in the music charts.

Singer Siza remains at the top of the Billboard album chart

However, this is no reason to rest for Siza.

She presented her latest song in February - a remix of her colleague Lizo's single "Special".

"It's real," she tells Billboard.

"I'm declaring 2023 Siza's year. But for me, she's been woman of the year for at least a decade. I've always been a fan of her music, her artistry... and I really love her as a friend."

Siza is currently focused on a deluxe edition of "SOS".

It will include 10 additional songs and will be released soon, adds BTA.
