Guo Hongwei, director of the Epidemic Center of the CDC, said that there were 44,808 outpatient and emergency visits to influenza-like patients last week, the same as the previous week.

In the past 4 weeks, the contracted laboratory has isolated respiratory viruses, mainly influenza virus, followed by adenovirus and herpes simplex virus. Among them, influenza virus isolation is mainly type A H3N2, showing that respiratory viruses such as influenza continue to be active in the community. The epidemic will be flat in the coming week.

Last week, there were 6 new severe cases of influenza, aged between 40s and 80s, 5 of them had a history of chronic diseases such as neuromuscular disease, metabolic disease, kidney disease, asthma, diabetes, etc., 5 cases were infected with type A H3N2, 1 case of type A H1N1; 2 additional deaths, aged in their 60s and 80s, both infected with type A H3N2, with a history of underlying diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and kidney disease, and none of them were vaccinated against this season's flu vaccine .

Since the beginning of this flu season on October 1 last year, there have been 59 cases of severe influenza, including 49 cases of type A H3N2, 5 cases of type A H1N1, 1 case of untyped type A, and 4 cases of type B. The age group includes elderly people over 65 years old 39% accounted for the most, 92% had not been vaccinated against this season's influenza, and 78% had a history of chronic diseases. Among them, 11 cases died, 10 cases of H3N2, and 1 case of type B, all of whom had a history of chronic diseases and had not been vaccinated against this season's influenza.

The Department of Disease Control and Prevention reminds that it is the season when respiratory diseases such as influenza are prone to occur. People must wash their hands frequently, wear masks, and rest at home when they are sick. Wear a mask and seek medical treatment as soon as possible, especially those at high risk of influenza, such as the elderly over 65 years old, infants, high-risk chronic patients, and pregnant women, should pay special attention to their own health.

In addition, last week, there were 165,010 visits to outpatient and emergency departments for diarrhea nationwide, and 2,254 visits to outpatient and emergency departments across the country.
