A total of 71 people who were engaged in the illegal circulation and sale of drugs, fraud, theft, robbery, illegal possession of weapons and hooliganism were detained by the officers of the Shirvan City Police Department during the operations conducted in the city during the months of January-February of this year.

According to the information given to APA by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 52 of those persons were arrested as a result of police operations aimed at preventing the illegal circulation of drugs.

39 of them were arrested by the court, and 13 were placed under the control of the police.

5 kilograms of heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine and narcotic pills were removed from illegal circulation.


During the mentioned period, 11 people were detained and handed over to the investigation, who, during the operations conducted by the City Police Department officers, abused the trust of citizens and made false promises that they would provide them with jobs, as well as fix sickness and disability pensions, and fraudulently seized the money of the victims.

In addition, 3 people who stole from houses and shops located in the city, 1 person who committed robbery, 1 person who illegally kept a weapon, and 2 people who were hooligans were detained and brought to justice.


In connection with all the discovered facts, criminal proceedings have been initiated in the Investigation Department of the Shirvan City Police Department, and investigations are ongoing.
