The Head of Arumeru District, Emmanuela Kaganda has given an opinion to the traditional leaders of the Maasai community (Malaigwanan) to condemn the incidents of violence that are currently emerging, including providing proper education on the use of communication technology, especially cell phones.

DC, Kaganda has made the request in Arusha City when he met with traditional leaders at the Arusha Technical College (ATC) which is a special place for their meetings of the Maasai community and also uses it to do traditional things including getting blessings.

He has said that if traditional leaders provide education on sexual violence to women, children and other groups, incidents of violence will be able to decrease because society will have received sufficient education against the effects of violence.

"I don't feel good to hear various incidents of violence happening in my district, I ask the traditional leaders to cooperate in this, but I also congratulate them because the Maasai tribe is actually a tribe that maintains traditions, culture, so let's cooperate in ensuring globalization through mobile phone technology, help the youth to get development instead of being used against IT"

Also DC, has given a gift of more than 20 chairs that will enable the leaders to sit when they hold their meetings along with blankets for some of the leaders to cover themselves from the cold.

And the Secretary of the Malaigwanani, Amani Lukumay has thanked the DC for coming to that important area to discuss their challenges and insist on providing education on opposing sexual violence, child marriage and other forms of violence to various groups including globalization that destroys morals in society so if leaders of tradition collaborating with government leaders and various communities

Earlier, one of the organizers of the Maasai Festival, Lekoko Lepilal, said that the arrival of DC, Kaganda has been able to create opportunities between the government and the traditional leaders because in August this year a cultural festival will be held which will be known as "Maasai Festival" that will be held in Arusha Region.
