During the month of January 2023, a total of 1,050 criminal facts were discovered as a result of the complex investigative measures carried out by law enforcement agencies in the field of combating drug addiction and illegal drug trafficking.

APA reports that the State Commission on the Fight against Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs has released information about this.

352 of them were related to the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, 684 were related to illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs, 6 were related to illegal cultivation of narcotic plants, and 8 were related to other crimes of this category.

674 kg 760.289 g of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances confiscated from the illegal traffic, 218 kg 743.7 g of heroin, 391 kg 912.157 g of marijuana, 12 kg 629.341 g of opium, 32 kg 320.25 g of opium 18 kg of hashish, 944,491 g of psychotropic substances, and 210,35 g of other drugs.

Also, during the indicated period, 8970 methadone pills, 28 hemp plants weighing 1kg 400g, as well as 194.4g and 1540 capsules of powerful substances were taken from illegal circulation.

During the reporting period, 631 people were brought to criminal responsibility for illegal drug trafficking, of which 39 people were under 18-25 years old, 92 people were under 26-29 years old, and 500 people were over 30 years old.

611 of those persons were men and 20 were women. 11 of the persons brought to criminal responsibility are citizens of foreign countries.
