On February 20, the expected quality of atmospheric air was announced.

According to the information given to APA by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, monitoring of atmospheric air quality is carried out on a daily basis through automatic air quality monitoring stations in Sabail, Khatai, Nizami, Narimanov districts and Sumgait, Ganja cities of Baku city.

"According to the analysis of the data obtained from the stations, the air quality indicators were within the norm during the day in Sabail, Nizami, Narimanov districts and Sumgayit city of Baku. However, in Khatai district, carbon monoxide was 1.6 times higher than the norm, and nitrogen-4 oxide was 1.3 times higher than the norm in the city of Ganja.

The results of the analyzes show that the reason why the atmospheric air of the mentioned areas is more polluted than other areas is the intensive nature of traffic in those areas, as well as the activity of industrial enterprises and other anthropogenic effects.
