The document is published on the National Legal Internet Portal and enters into force after publication.

"Items 1 and 7 of the appendix to the Decree of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus dated June 15, 2012 No. 75 "On establishing a list of diseases that pose a danger to the health of the population" are to be "excluded," the document says.

According to Reform.by, syphilis and gonorrhea are listed under point 1, and infection caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus is under point 7.

COVID-19 was added to this list in early 2020.

The presence of a disease in this list allows for compulsory mandatory medical examination in the event of a person's refusal to undergo it, if there are sufficient grounds to believe that the person has such a disease.

Compulsory hospitalization and treatment is also allowed if a person has a disease from the list.

The Ministry of Health reported that 71.1% of the population of Belarus completed the full course of vaccination against COVID-19, and 87.5% of those who were vaccinated received the first booster dose.

Thus, the following diseases remain in the list of diseases that pose a threat to the health of the population:

  • — active tuberculosis of respiratory organs.

  • — the plague.

  • - cholera.

  • — anthrax.

  • — hemorrhagic fevers of Lassa, Marburg, Ebola.
