According to the local criminal legislation, the man faces 3 to 8 years of imprisonment.
In February 2020, mass riots took place in the Kardai district of the Zhambyl region, during which 11 people were killed and 160 people were injured, including 20 police officers.
342 people were recognized as victims.
According to the official version, the reason for the riots, as a result of which dozens of houses and commercial facilities were burned, was a conflict between two criminal groups over control of sources of illegal income.
