Driving licenses of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates will be mutually recognized.

APA reports that this is about the approval of the Memorandum of Understanding "On mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the United Arab Emirates", which was included in the agenda of the meeting of the Legal Policy and State Building Committee of the Milli Majlis held today. reflected in the draft law.

A valid driver's license issued to non-resident citizens in accordance with the categories of vehicles mentioned in the memorandum (taking into account the minimum age limit) is also recognized by both countries.

In relation to the citizens who come for the purpose of living, those citizens are exempted from the prescribed theoretical and practical examination when applying for the purpose of changing the driver's license issued by the competent authorities of the parties.

The competent authorities of the coordinating parties for the implementation of this Memorandum are the General State Police Department on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Federal General Department for Issuing Vehicle and Driver Licenses on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.

According to the memorandum, any additions or changes made to the relevant national legislation of the party states must be informed to the other party through diplomatic channels without delay.

At the same time, any disagreement between the parties is resolved through direct negotiations and consultations.

This Memorandum of Understanding shall enter into force on the date of receipt of the last written notification confirming the completion of all procedures.

This Memorandum is concluded for an indefinite period.

Signed in two originals in Arabic and English.

In case of any disagreement in the description of the memorandum, the English text shall prevail.
