A meeting was held at the Press Council with the participation of the heads of various media entities and the leadership of the Media Development Agency (MEDIA).

APA informs that the Chairman of the Press Council Rashad Majid, who opened the event with an introductory speech, announced a number of issues on the agenda.

He said that a number of dissatisfactions were noted at the last meeting of the Management Board.

The first of these is that of employees in some states in editorial offices, television stations - head of department, head of department, etc.

they have always been accepted as journalists.

"They could not register.

There was concern that what will happen to well-known journalists working in these states, even honorable journalists?

But it is a good thing that this issue has already been resolved.

Staff units whose labor activity is not taken into account, such as journalists, will also be able to enter the register," he said.

The Chairman of the Press Council also emphasized that the proposed amendment to the Tax Code on the activities of media subjects in the Milli Majlis is a positive step.

Speaking later, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Media Development Agency, Ahmet Ismayilov, suggested that such a meeting should be held with business subjects, the support of business to the advertising market should be discussed and mechanisms should be determined.

As for the inability of some states to be included in the register, he said that this is not primarily a problem of the "Media" Law.

There is no loophole in the law.

"The problem stems from media subjects not writing state units correctly for many years. States should have been formed in accordance with the Labor Code. We see that some states on many televisions do not have a legal basis. However, we appealed to Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and immediately We have received a reaction. As a result of the flexible work of the minister and his team, we have managed to solve this problem. From now on, department heads will also be recognized as journalists," Ahmad Ismayilov said.

Ahmet Ismayilov also clarified that 3 years of internship is required from a journalist to pass the media registry.

He said that this requirement is due to the principle of professionalism.

"It would not be right to remove someone who graduated from the journalism faculty yesterday from the register.

This requires some experience.

Or one can register with some media entities to take advantage of the privileges.

However, if they will not engage in journalism after a short time, then removing them from the register will not be a fair approach to professional journalists," he said.

At the event, the heads of media structures also asked questions about a number of other issues of interest to them, and the head of the Media Development Agency answered these questions.
