The controversial point regarding whether media entities operating in a number of states are considered journalists or not has been resolved.

APA informs that this was said by the executive director of the Media Development Agency, Ahmet Ismayilov, at the meeting held at the Press Council with the participation of the Press Council Board of Directors and the management of the MEDIA Agency.

According to him, the problem that those working in some state units are not considered journalists stems from the fact that media subjects do not mention the name of the state units correctly:

"We appealed to Minister Sahil Babayev about this and received an immediate response.

We managed to solve this problem as a result of the flexible work of the minister and his team."

Ahmet Ismayilov noted that the employees of the press service are not considered journalists:

"Journalists are currently considered to be persons engaged in journalistic activities only.

Therefore, only those who are actually active in this direction can go through the media register."

Ahmet Ismayilov noted that the editors and heads of departments in the newsrooms will be registered as journalists in the Media Register.
