The tomb of 13th century Azerbaijani poet Izzeddin Hasanoglu in Iran was destroyed.

APA reports that Ali Shamil, a folklorist scientist, head of the department of relations with foreign countries at ANAS Institute of Folklore, reported on his social network account.

"This morning, a bitter news arrived. They sent a picture of Hasanoglu's grave in a destroyed state. I would like our intellectuals and official circles to comment on this issue," he said.

It should be noted that Izzeddin Hasanoglu is the author of the first ghazal in the history of Azerbaijani literature in his native language.

Hasanoglu's 3 ghazals in Azerbaijani, titled "Take my heart to a happy, gloomy lover", "How do you come, my face is white" and "I wonder who made me do something", and 1 ghazal in Persian, "The people have become merciless, what should I do?" has arrived.
