[Reporter Zhou Xingrui/Matsu Report] On the 15th day of the first lunar month, the Lantern Festival is celebrated in various places. In the series of cultural festival activities in Matsu Beigan, on the 15th day, there are blessings from Tangqi Village and Houwo Village.

First of all, at 2:00 p.m., Tangqi Jing went around to pray for blessings. The miraculous sedan chairs and gongs and flags from various temples in Beigan Township gathered in front of the Shubu Shangshu’s mansion. The meter-long procession walked through the underground culvert of Beigan Airport, set foot on the Tanghou Road that divides Tanghou Beach into two, and marched mightily to the Yanggong Bashi Palace Temple Fair in Houwo Village.

Wherever they pass along the way, devout believers hold incense and greet them at the door of their homes. When the shaman sedan arrives, they immediately set off firecrackers and go up to worship and insert incense. The whole street is suddenly filled with smoke and crackling sounds spread everywhere.

Through such a lively and festive detour, the whole territory seemed to be blessed by the gods and filled with an invisible force that stabilized the hearts of the people.

The same prayer circle around the border starts at 5:00 p.m. at Xiao Wang’s Mansion in Tangqi Jing, and at 7:00 p.m. at Houwo Jing Yanggong’s Bashi Palace to pray for blessings.

In the procession of praying around the border, you can see several huge god puppets "Baby", "Seven Lords" and "Eight Lords", as well as "Bao Changgong" holding wine pots and green bamboo branches. walking drunk, or shaking their bodies or hands, etc., these are very familiar sights to the locals; but to the tourists, they will find it very interesting, the long detour queue seems like Carnival, a large-scale party where gods and believers celebrate together happily.
