Brides choose to wear vintage wedding dresses for many reasons, for example, because of savings, because such an outfit is often cheaper, other girls because of conscious consumption or the uniqueness of the dress.

But here's a bride named

Kate Tafelski who

wore a vintage outfit because of the pandemic, because in 2021, when she was getting married, many bridal salons were closed and she couldn't walk through them to choose an outfit she liked, try it on and touch it .

Therefore, Kate decided to wear a dress that she already had - the wedding dress of her grandmother, who got married in 1961.

The dress has been kept in her family all these years, as Kate's mother also had sentimental feelings about the dress - she wore it to her wedding in 1989.

Originally, the dress had a full skirt, lace sleeves and a bodice, the hem of the dress was also decorated with lace.

Kate's grandmother complemented the dress with a simple veil and a glamorous tiara, but her mother decided to change the design of the dress and make it more in line with the fashion of the 80s, so the dress had lush sleeves, like

.

Kate's mother completed the look with a layered veil with a wreath.

Kate admitted to Insider that she never planned to wear this dress because it doesn't match her style.

And she also didn't like how her mother had remade her.

She once even planned to wear this outfit to a Halloween party, but then the zipper on the dress broke and she had to wear a different costume.

But still, she was a fan of the original look of the dress worn by her grandmother, so she wanted to remake it, bringing back the original design.

Kate took the dress to the atelier and, unfortunately, the seamstress said the lace sleeves were fraying with age, so they would have to be removed.

Also, her skirt was made a little smaller, and waist inserts were made from the remaining fabric, as her figure was different from her mother's and grandmother's figures.

When Mom and Dad Tafelski first saw her in this dress, they were very happy that she was the third bride in the family to wear the dress.

"Family is very important to us and knowing that I chose to incorporate such a special part of family history into my wedding day made them very happy and I think proud," said the bride, noting that she hopes the dress will bring her success and her marriage will be as happy and long as her parents'.

As for the fabric from the sleeves, which had to be removed, the girl decided to keep it - Kate divided the fabric into small pieces, put it in a frame and gave it to some family members on her mother's side.
