APA reports that Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Deputy Chairman of Milli Majlis Ali Huseynli, Chairman of Youth Fund Farid Jafarov, Head of Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation Farhad Aliyev and other officials are participating in the event.

Ali Huseynli, the deputy chairman of the Milli Majlis, said that the selection of Mingachevir as the Youth Capital in the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" was a significant event and pointed out that the people of Mingachevir have a great responsibility.

He said that our lands, which were under occupation for nearly 30 years, were liberated thanks to the bravery of our youth.

"At the same time, our youth won not only on the battlefield, but also in the information war. Our struggle is still going on. Today, it is the youth of Azerbaijan who said no to environmental terrorism on the Khankendi-Lachin road, and who prevented the terrorist attack on our embassy in Iran a few days ago," he said. did.

Speaking later, the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said that the Youth Day was established in Azerbaijan for the first time in the CIS.

"This is the first time that we are celebrating Youth Day outside of Baku. For this, our young people from several regions of our country are participating here. We will hold various events in Mingachevir throughout the year. Azerbaijan has very capable and active young people," he said.

The President of the Youth Fund, Farid Jafarov, said in his speech that the youth policy has been successfully continued.

In connection with the announcement of Mingachevir as the Youth Capital this year, he expressed hope that the youth of Mingachevir will do great things.

Within the framework of the event, the Ministry of Youth and Sports presented "Youth of the Year" awards to a group of young people.

The symbolic key of the capital was taken from Tovuz and presented to the city of Mingachevir.

Later, the logo of Mingachevir Youth Capital was presented.
