At around 00:15 tonight, the "112" hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information about an explosion in a multi-storey residential building located on 20 Janvar Street, Nasimi District, Baku.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA that the forces of the Nasimi District Fire Protection Unit of the State Fire Protection Service were immediately involved in the area.

While assessing the operational conditions at the scene, it was determined that an explosion, which resulted in a fire, occurred in a two-room apartment with a total area of ​​45m² on the 1st floor of a five-story residential building.

Appropriate measures were taken by the forces of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the operational conditions.

During the incident, due to the impact of the blast wave, the window frame of one room of the apartment was dislodged, a sofa and a chair were partially burned as a result of the fire, and an air conditioner was deformed due to the high temperature.

A citizen living as a tenant in the apartment received burn injuries.

As a result of the explosion, two cars parked near the building were damaged.

The relevant agencies are investigating the incident.
