5 people involved in the illegal circulation and sale of drugs in the region were detained by the officers of the Balakan District Police Department.

About 3 kilograms of heroin and marijuana, as well as a rifled firearm, were found from them.

It was determined that one of those persons was a drug courier for an Iranian citizen in exchange for money.

According to information provided to APA by the Sheki regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vugar Aghcayev, a resident of the village of Gullar, who was previously convicted many times, was arrested during the operation.

During a personal search, a large amount of heroin - 2 kilograms and 230 grams - was found.

During the investigation, it was found that Vugar Aghcayev made a connection with an Iranian citizen on the "Whatsapp" social network and was a drug courier to him.

The last time the detained person was caught by police officers while trying to take the drug from Balakan to the capital for 2000 manats.


Ruslan Mammadov, who is suspected of hiding firearms, ammunition and drugs, was detained at his residence as a result of the operation and search conducted by the officers of the Advanced Police Department of the department.

110 grams of marijuana, a sniper rifle and cartridges belonging to that weapon were found and taken from him and from his house.

During the operation against the illegal circulation of drugs in the territory of the district by police officers, three more people were arrested - Matin Mammadov, Hamid Goylarov and Murad Bayogluyev.

Marijuana was found in all three of them and submitted for investigation.

During the investigation, it was found that the narcotics found on Metin Mammadov were bought from Hamid Goylarov, and Hamid Goylarov bought them from Murad Bayogluyev.


As a result of the operations carried out by the officers of the Balakan District Police Department in January, 25 people involved in the sale, storage and cultivation of drugs were arrested, and about 16 kilograms of various types of drugs were removed from circulation.
