The royal couple began their two-month tour of Fiji, Australia and New Zealand that day.

The first stop of the Queen and Prince then was Vancouver.

Queen Elizabeth II is dressed in a fur coat (then the monarch still wore such), black gloves and a laconic black hat.

Her hair was in a bun, and pearl earrings sparkled in her ears.

Philip, Duke of Edinburgh stood nearby and also waved to the crowd.

He was wearing a coat and a white shirt.
