Elton John's farewell tour "Yellow Brick Road Tour" is the highest-grossing in history, reported Billboard.

It is the first in Billboard Boxscore history to gross over US$800 million.

Elton John announced that he will stop his concert activity in January 2018, but after several years of world tour, with which he will say goodbye to his audience.

It started in September of that year and is not over yet.

The 278 concerts performed so far have grossed US$817.9 million.

So Elton John surpassed Ed Sheeran's "Divide" tour ($776.4 million).

Sheeran set his record in 2019, eclipsing Yu Tu's "360" ($836.4 million).

Most of the concerts of these two tours were in stadiums, while Elton John from 2018 to 2020 performed his concerts in arenas before switching to stadiums in the last year.

When it comes to tickets sold, however, Elton John is not in first place.

Farewell Yellow Brick Road sold 5.3 million tickets, fewer than Ed Sheeran and Yu Tu's tours.

This is the highest amount and the most tickets for a solo artist's career in the history of Boxscore - more than Bruce Springsteen and Madonna, adds BTA.
