The largest number of people sick with influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARIs) are reported in Gabrovo, Lovech, Yambol and Sofia regions.

This is shown by the data from the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases for the period January 23-29, 2023.

In the Gabrovo region, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections is 259 per 10,000 population, with the most affected age group being 0-4 years.

An influenza epidemic was declared in the district yesterday, and school classes, visits to hospitals, consultations for pregnant women and children were suspended.

In the Lovech region, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections is 242 per 10,000 people, and the age group 0-4 years is also the most affected.

An influenza epidemic was declared for the Lovech region in the period January 18-24.

In the Yambol region, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections is 217 per 10,000 population, with the highest number of infected in the age group 0-4 years.

In the district, an influenza epidemic was declared in the period 25-31 January.

In the Sofia region, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections is 275 per 10,000 population.

The largest number of infected people is reported in the same age group.

The influenza epidemic for the district was declared for the period January 20-27.

The least number of people infected with influenza and acute respiratory infections are in the districts of Dobrich - 92 per 10 thousand, and Razgrad - 99 per 10 thousand population.
