To make them tastier and keep their shape better, rice is added to the meat.

Ingredients for meatballs

  • minced meat - 600 g;

  • boiled rice - 250 g;

  • egg - 1 pc.;

  • flour (for rolling the meatballs);

  • onion - 1 pc.;

  • garlic - 2 cloves;

  • salt;

  • black pepper.

To prepare the sauce:

  • tomato juice - 400 g;

  • tomato paste - 40 g;

  • carrots - 2 pcs.

    (average);

  • onion - 2 pcs.;

  • garlic - 1 clove;

  • paprika - 1 teaspoon;

  • a mixture of Italian herbs - 0.5 tsp;

  • bay leaf - 1 pc.;

  • ground black pepper;

  • sugar, salt;

  • water - 150 g;

  • oil.

Preparation

Mix minced meat with chopped onion and garlic, boiled and cooled rice.

Add egg, salt, pepper, knead thoroughly.

Form the meatballs, beating slightly, roll them in flour, shake off the excess and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Bake at a temperature of 190 degrees for ten minutes.

Prepare the sauce: Cut the onion into half rings, grate the carrot on a large grater.

Pour a little oil into the pan and fry the onion and carrot until golden.

Add tomato paste, lightly fry, tomato juice, water, salt, sugar, spices and bring to a boil.

Put the baked meatballs in a pan with sauce, bring to a boil.

Simmer over low heat for 40 minutes with the lid closed.

Advices

  • For meatballs, use any minced meat.

  • The amount of water can be changed slightly depending on how much sauce you want.

  • Serve meatballs with sour cream.
